10 Cool Brands From The Latest “Editor Showcase” Event

Editor Showcase events are a great way for writers and other creatives to catch the latest and greatest in a particular field. At the Power-Pitching Holiday Hosting event, held at the Marriott Marquis Times Square in New York, the theme was hosting for the upcoming holiday season. From what’s in the oven to what’s in your glass, holiday-entertaining is a big business. According to MSN Money, “Americans love a good celebration and aren’t afraid to pay for it”; the article estimated upwards of $1,000 per capita spending on winter holidays including gifts, food, and decorations.

As I was very intrigued by some of the exhibitors, below are some personal highlights from my time spent at the August 2019 New York City event of Editor Showcase.

Morning Recovery

Morning Recovery CEO and founder Sisun Lee was a Product Manager at Tesla when he came up with this beverage’s concept during a trip to Korea. Ultimately, Morning Recovery is intended to be a hangover remedy of sorts. It is a drink centered around the Oriental raisin tree known as the Hovenia Dulcis. Other ingredients include prickly pear extract, vitamin B complex, electrolytes, and anti-oxidant dihydromyricetin.

New from the brand, which is under the Smart Labs banner, is its Aqua+ Probiotics series. Intended to bring “hydration with benefits,” this new series of products is available within the watermelon and strawberry lemonade varieties.

The Grommet x ACE Hardware

Launched in 2008, The Grommet has worked with close to 3,000 inventors, entrepreneurs and small businesses to launch dozens of household products and brands on its website. FitBit, IdeaPaint, OtterBox and SodaStream are among the items that were showcased on The Grommet as they were launching. Among the brands displayed by The Grommet at this event were Duke Cannon, Grill Armor, Strawesome and Chippo. Simply put, with smart curating from The Grommet done, ACE — which statistically is within 15 miles of 75% of all Americans — has something for everyone.

Daily Burn

The Daily Burn aims to be your turn-key solution when it comes to not only getting in shape but also staying in shape. While most Daily Burn offerings are on-demand, its 365 workout program features a 30-minute workout every day at 9:00 am EST – no equipment needed. Seemingly new to the progress-oriented, phone-friendly program is its expanded yoga program. Simply put, if the motivation to be healthy is there, you will never get tired of using Daily Burn.

Madhava Sweeteners

Clean Label Project certified, which means that it has been tested for over 130 toxins and industrial contaminants, Madhava is an award-winning brand. Madhava makes a variety of organic products, including Creamed Honey, Amber Honey, Golden Honey, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Coconut Sugar, and several agave variations. Madhava recently changed its packaging, so expect environmentally-sound preparation of its goods beyond their excellent flavoring.

RIND SNACKS

Giving you “the fruit, the whole fruit and nothing but the fruit,” RIND SNACKS include the rind of the fruits selected. After all, consuming that rind means getting more vitamins, antioxidants and fiber. These sun-dried superfruits come in the Tangy Kiwi, Bittersweet Oranges, Pineapple, Sweet Persimmon, Tart Apple and Tangy Peach varieties. Nutritious and delicious.

Kombrewcha

Through ZX Ventures, Anheuser-Busch first backed Kombrewcha — the original hard kombucha — in 2016. After finding success in New York, Anheuser-Busch helped Kombrewcha scale to the Pacific Northwest, where the region already had a high density of kombucha drinkers. The brand is the only hard kombucha to have a USDA seal of approval for its organic ingredients, and is now available in a canned FORMAT. Those ingredients, you ask? Fair trade black tea, water, organic cane sugar, and organic yeast. Indulgent, practical and enjoyable all at once.

Whisps
An airy, crispy, crunchy, and tasty snack made solely from one ingredient: 100 percent true cheese. Made from cello’s award-winning cheeses, Whisps are an excellent source of calcium and protein. As an added bonus, expect a relatively-low calorie count, especially by cheese or poppable snack standards. In turn, you can indulge within minimal guilt when Whisps are around.

Cobram Estate

Cobram Estate’s California Mission Extra Virgin Olive Oil was named the “World’s Healthiest Extra Virgin Olive Oil” at the 2017 Health & Food Extra Virgin Olive Oil Awards in Málaga Costa Del Sol, Spain. This award was based on the following components: total polyphenols, oleocanthal levels and most balanced fatty acid profile. Tasting it all in-person, thanks to Chef Kevin O’Connor, it is easy to see how this Australian brand was able to expand into the United States a few years back.

Sodastream

SodaStream is an Israel-based manufacturing company known for making the popular carbonation product of the same name. In turn, SodaStream sells more than 100 varieties of concentrated syrups and flavors so everyday people can easily make carbonated drinks. Thousands of Walmart stores sell SodaStream products, while an estimated 20 percent of households in Sweden own SodaStream machines, further providing its long-term international importance. I had the chance to experience its new Organic Ginger Ale variety of its Organic Soda Syrup line and do believe that I am now hooked.

JUVEA Pillows

As found on beds, couches and all sorts of rest-related furniture, pillows are all over your daily existence. JUVEA pillows are 100 percent natural, breathable, and supportive. Its latex is produced from 100 percent natural Hevea tree sap and is harvested sustainably from a renewable source. Unlike memory foam products on the market which are petroleum-based. In turn, JUVEA pillows are chemical-free and are intended to be soft, and supportive, relaxing your muscles and maximizing overall comfort.
