The Best of Halloween 2015

Halloween 2015 came and went, but certainly didn’t fail to leave a humorous impact. This year’s costumes had your usual ghouls, vampires, witches and the rest of the spooky gang. However, the highlight of this year’s festivities (at least for me) were the kids who dressed like famous adults.

The cream of the crop belonged to these two cutie-pies who dressed up as the most powerful political couple in the free world, the Obamas. And they didn’t just throw on suits with an American flag pin on their lapels, they dressed as the Obamas during the Papal dinner!

Then there’s this little guy who dressed up as “Jake from State Farm”. I instantly recalled every time that I laughed at those commercials and his costume made me laugh even more.

The coolest kid costumer, which took me back to my childhood, was the little boy who dressed as Chuckie from Rugrats. What was so impressive about his costume is that his parents nailed every single component of Chuckie’s outfit from the t-shirt with Saturn on it to the tennis shoes and socks. He was a flashback and a replica of a cartoon character many of us adored.

Any little girl can dress up as a princess or queen for Halloween, but how many little girls dress up as an Academy Award winning actress. This wonderful little girl dressed up as Viola Davis and toted around a golden statuette and an award-winning smile. Her natural hair billowed behind her and her red-stained lipstick gave her the finishing touch.

Other amazing costumes for the night included the Carter family playing homage to the Coming to America royalty, The Rock dressed as Popeye and Nicki Minaj as a princess. Comic strips came to life this year as well, with a heavy pop-art influence and spot-on replications of infamous icons such as Jessica Rabbit.
