The Chatwal — as located in Manhattan’s Theater District — is a luxury-oriented New York hotel, as built in 1905. Bloomingdale’s is another iconic luxury destination in New York, known as one of the essential places to shop. The Chatwal and Bloomingdale’s have partnered together this holiday season to offer an “Enhance Your Holiday Season” package, now available through January 1, 2018, as including the limited-edition Chatwal x Bloomingdale’s “Little Red Bag.”

On behalf of A Global Lifestyle, I had the pleasure of chatting with Ashish Verma, Vice President Luxury Division of Dream Hotel Group and General Manager of the Chatwal. More on this collaboration can be found online at www.thechatwalny.com.

How would you describe the Chatwal partnership with Bloomingdale’s to someone who hasn’t yet experienced it?

Ashish Verma: A jewel of Manhattan, our hotel bridges the classic and contemporary like no other. The most convenient location, the most personalized service, and the most distinguished and tasteful product. It’s an oasis in the heart of the most exciting city in the world. An art deco marvel with pedigree of the famous architect Stanford White and the iconic designer Thierry Despont, The Chatwal offers every imaginable luxury to our guests, and Bloomingdale’s does exactly that with the most carefully-curated products from the most famous designers and fashion houses in a most convenient location accessible by a chauffeur-driven Mercedes. Its array of the most stylish and fashionable offerings coupled with most bespoke service are a great combination.

What is your favorite part of the partnership?

Ashish Verma: Being able to exceed the expectations of our guests with one-stop shopping for their holiday list!

What else is coming up for The Chatwal?

Ashish Verma: The Chatwal Lodge, Bethel, in Upstate New York, will be launched in Spring 2019. In a pristine setting, the 56 accommodations — including private villas, glam tents and many suite options — will each have fireplaces, Japanese hot tubs and most rustic refined interiors. A farm-to-table restaurant with Chef Alain Ducasse will offer country fare with finest seasonal ingredients from the region and beyond. In Wellness, a spa with naturopathy treatments and several outdoor activities including fly fishing, horseback riding, and tennis.

The Chatwal Resort, Maaga, Maldives is expected in Spring 2020. The Chatwal Resort in Dominican Republic is being planned. Also, The Chatwal Lodge in Mexico is in the cards.

Finally, what is your next planned vacation?

Ashish Verma: Each year I like to visit a couple of new countries for personal time off. This year was Hungary and Poland. Cambodia, Laos, and Myanmar are atop on my list for early Spring 2018.
