Project Runway superstar and haute couture designer Christian Siriano launched his gorgeous debut collection for Lane Bryant yesterday in an online sneak peek. Available online and in all Lane Bryant stores today, the Christian Siriano for Lane Bryant line slays plus size fashions for his memorable evening and ready-to-wear resort casual dresses, skirts and matching tops, modeled by Siriano’s friend and actress Danielle Brooks (Orange is the New Black, The Color Purple).
Siriano’s first collection for Lane Bryant ranges in price from $48-$198. The designs focus on black and white with pops of magenta for evening, along with canary yellows and mint greens for daytime looks. These chic and versatile sportwear-to-evening silhouettes are obviously made for those who need to go from the tarmac to the boardroom to a romantic dinner to church to late night dancing in comfortable and affordable style.
“Fashion should never be defined by size,” says Siriano, who loves to combine classic styles with whimsical modern twists, as well as quality tailoring and intricate detailing.
“I’m excited about this partnership with Lane Bryant because it allows me the opportunity to showcase my designs on the everyday woman and allow [women] the opportunity to feel as beautiful and fashionable as possible,” he says.
Before he won top honors on Project Runway, Siriano studied fashion design in London under Vivienne Westwood and Alexander McQueen. His Christian Siriano collection is always a hit at New York Fashion Week, especially his fantastic evening gowns, cocktail dresses, tailored sportswear and shoes and accessories.
