Award Travel 101’s Richard Kerr On Earning Rewards For Low-Cost Luxury Travel

Richard Kerr is notably the founder of Award Travel 101, AwardWallet’s Facebook community. Kerr first discovered an interest in collecting rewards points and miles while serving as a naval officer and living in Japan, as he had then been looking for cost-effective ways to visit his family back home in the States.

Fast forward to present day, Richard Kerr not only serves as a Senior Points and Miles Contributor for The Points Guy, but Kerr is also considered one of the world’s foremost experts within the travel rewards and loyalty space. He has been featured in Forbes, Money Magazine and Kiplinger Personal Finance — to name a few key publications — and was a presenter at SXSW 2017 in Austin, Texas. Ultimately, Kerr has visited over 45 countries and often has his wife and two small children in tow for his travels.

I did Q&A with Richard Kerr about how an everyday person can travel luxuriously for pennies on the dollar and plenty more. A video from this April 2019 interview is embedded below for your viewing pleasure. Kerr — who recently worked with Shell on a national campaign — can be followed on Twitter via @AwrdTravel101.
