A Week of Paradise in Dubai

Luxury travel has never looked so good.

If you’re ready to stretch your wings and experience something totally new, it’s time to experience a week of paradise in Dubai. Here’s where you should stay, what to eat, and what to do while you’re there.

Stay: Waldorf Astoria, Shangri-La, Taj Dubai

First, book your accommodations at the Waldorf Astoria Palm Jumeirah.

It’s your own secret haven in the desert of Dubai. For starters, you have 200 meters of private beach. If you aren’t in the mood for the beach, there are two temperature-controlled pools and a kids pool. Want to relax? Hit the Waldorf Astoria Spa, with nearly 50 luxurious treatments to choose from.

There’s also Shangri-La Dubai, the ideal place to discover Dubai’s unique character. You get a view of Dubai’s stunning, ever-evolving skyline from any of the hotel’s 302 rooms. You’re spoiled for choices when it comes to dining, with food options from Indian to South American.

Or, check out Taj Dubai, a vibrant combination of Indian artistry and traditional Emirati influences. Conveniently located in the Burj Khalifa district, the hotel is a culinary tour-de-force, complete with traditional afternoon tea.

Eat: FireLake, Miss Tess, Shang Palace

Of course, if you want to venture outside the hotel, there are plenty of options to whet your appetite.

If you’re in the mood for Asian fare, head to Miss Tess. It’s a street-food restaurant inspired by the story of the owner, Miss Tess, who grew up surrounded by Asian street foods.

If you prefer more high-end Asian cuisine, check out Shang Palace. It serves Cantonese and provincial Chinese delicacies, including Beijing duck and a long list of aromatic teas.

Do: Desert Tour, Burj Khalifa, Yellow Boat Tour

Want to stretch your wings? Take advantage of the abundant desert and head out on an adventure.

Dubai Desert Safari is a spectacular desert experience, treating you to stellar views of the desert at sunset. You can go dune bashing and sandboarding. When you’re worn out, head back to the Bedouin campsite with traditional carpets and plush cushions while you watch a fire show and live belly dancing.

If you want to stay inside city limits, you won’t be short on adventure.

Check out Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building and a symbolic beacon of the modern Middle East. It’s inspired by the spider lily, a regional desert flower. It’s the world’s tallest art gallery, home to 1.85 million square feet of residential space, and multiple observation decks.

If you want to see Dubai by water, book a Yellow Boat Tour. The original tour includes the five-star Atlantis Hotel, Dubai Marina, Burj Al Arab, and Ain Darabi, the new development on the Bluewaters Island.

Transportation: Blacklane, Welcome Pickups

You also need to worry about transportation. Fortunately, we’ve got two options to make things easy and luxurious.

When you land at the airport, arrange ahead of time for an airport taxi to pick you up. A driver can meet you at a designated exit carrying a sign with your name on it. You’ll get an English-speaking driver and a stress-free ride to your hotel.

From there, book a chauffeur service car from Blacklane, a global chauffeur service. You won’t have to worry about navigating public transportation, renting a car, or hailing a cab. You’ll get an English-speaking driver who knows the area and can always be ready for pickup whenever you need them.
