The all-new Kia Stinger made a star-studded appearance at New York Fashion Week 2017. The automotive company hosted a celebrity raceway challenge and built a fully functioning racetrack, complete with timing lights, viewing platforms and VIP tents.
Fashion designer Brandon Maxwell, supermodels Candice Swanepoel and Joan Smalls, baseball legend and CEO of A-ROD CORP Alex Rodriguez, writer and TV host Derek Blasberg, and social media superstar Cameron Dallas all came out to experience and compete against each other on the raceway.
The 2018 Kia Stinger is the automotive company’s highest performing vehicle to date, going from 0 to 60 MPH is 4.7 seconds. “The Kia that people knew just five years ago is gone,” said Kia Motors America president and CEO Justin Sohn. “Our new image is what attracts the young and the young at heart, in fashion, music, sports and entertainment.”
The raceway, which was designed as a modern interpretation of a gran turismo, posed the least challenge to supermodel Candice Swanepoel. She took home bragging rights as the celebrity that “worked the runway” faster than her celebrity competition.
