Known as the “Isle of Spices,” Grenada is undoubtedly one of the Caribbean’s hidden gems. The island has plenty more to offer than spices and beaches, of course, and I had the pleasure of attending this year’s Pure Grenada Music Festival. Featuring a mix of R&B, reggae and Soca artists — including Daley, Chrisette Michele, Alison Hinds, Sabrina Francis, Jah9 and Morgan Heritage — the three-day, multi-stage event attracted both performers and concert-goers from all over.
While staying in Grenada, I had the pleasure of being hosted by the Mount Cinnamon Resort & Beach Club. A beautiful villa-based hotel — which received the USA Today 10Best Reader’s Choice 2018 Award for Best Caribbean Resort — Mount Cinnamon overlooks Grand Anse Beach. In addition, the property has a private beach club, pool, tennis court, and fitness center among its amenities. Mount Cinnamon employees Carlene Kloodroffe and Judy Dragon showed me the most amazing hospitality.
